DEER
I feel that I am at a critical point in artmaking. The point of a needed change, the work needs to become more than it is. It needs to create a cohesive discourse on what I have to come to believe at this particular point in my life.

The macabre secret nostalgia plays
Sexual notes and proud displays
Secrets glorified the way
It’s supposed to feel, the way
I know it feels
The spectacle of being grown
Wanting to be known
Candy colors an d harsh lines
Only for curious eyes
These paintings commit off-color
Turnstile acts
Just the facts
Cartoons your parents
Wouldn’t let you watch
In some ways
Dared you to watch
Become nostalgic

Carnival of Art...
These are collaborations with Paul Garner for the Carnival of Arts in Memphis. These are some of the most exciting pieces of work I have ever collaborated with someone to get. Potential can be realized to its fullest degree as long as no one kills the donkey.

These are two of the newest studies for yet another series of paintings. Keep watching. Here is something good to think about.
"Art is a location-a designated imaginative space where freedom is experienced...It challenges the monopoly of the established reality by creating "fictitious worlds" in which one can see mirrored that range of human emotion and experience that does not find an outlet in the present reality."
-Herbert Marcuse
